"Once the foundation is in place, you can start building a tall tower."
While this wisdom has never been said by anyone, it fits well with our approach over the past few years. Recently, a basis has been created to meet the standards of a 4-star hotel. But as the name suggests, it's a 'standard' - nothing more, nothing less. 'Standards' do not sound like experiences, consequences, moments or memories - they sound like a framework, a basis, or a foundation.
We asked ourselves the question in 2020: Which products and services are not only with the 'standard', but also contribute positively to the guest experience?
We want to create long-lasting and memorable experiences in the Seehotel Schlierseer Hof. Our hotel rooms are charmingly Bavarian and playfully designed. No two rooms are alike. Our rooms facing the lake are featured with a spectacular view of the Schliersee and the Wendelsteingebirge. They offer everything you would expect from a hotel of this category. However, there was no X-Factor, and this missing aspect could not be replaced by a 43-inch Samsung UHD access.
The X-Factor usually includes several components: "Something exciting, something new, something catchy"
Well, whilst we cannot compare us to an award-winning TV show, the concept can be used at least: We would like to offer something special, something interactive and contemporary in our rooms, which has a lasting and positive effect on the guest stay. And yes, it should be fun to use.
During our deliberations, our conversations quickly turned in a certain direction - interactive tablets should be placed in the rooms.
Some people will now wonder why, of all places, at the Seehotel Schlierseer Hof, with its connotation to nature and Bavarian charm, these high-end electronic devices now have to find space in their rooms. Here are a few reasons why:
- Interactive tablets make the old (and dusty) hotel directory disappear, just like everything else that was printed out in the room: minibar price lists, instructions, room service menu, TV newspaper, the holy bible, restaurant menus, daily newspapers and magazines, telephone lists etc.
- Interactive tablets are more hygienic and easier to clean than any piece of paper.
- Interactive tablets, as the name suggests, are interactive. Communication with these devices is therefore possible. You can call the room neighbors or the reception desk, but you can also reach them via chat function, book your table in the restaurant or send a digital postcard from the hotel. You can also rate the hotel digitally or just surf the Internet. All of this without leaving your room or missing the sunset on your balcony.
- Interactive tablets replace other electrical devices in the room. The TV remote control, the classic telephone, an alarm clock, the heating thermostat - the tablet swallows a number of other electronic devices and thus creates more space and hygiene. However, we have to disappoint you on one point - the tablet cannot (yet) replace the hairdryer.
- We would like to inform you about a table in the restaurant that has become available? This works via push message directly on your tablet in the room: direct, discreet and state-of-the-art.
As you can see, tablets are the solution to many problems. They are the first building block of a tower that you as a guest will hopefully remember.
